Mother's Day? You Can Keep It!

Not for me the old breakfast in bed, lunch out at a posh restaurant routine. Oh no.

The Football Fanatic and The Fixer went to watch the match, The Singer and The Peacemaker went shopping, The Father of This Lot went to the Mare and Foal (no surprise there then) and me and The Noise ended up cleaning at my mother's!

All in all, it was NOT what I expected!

Still, since I seem to have taken on the look of a scheming Katharine Hepburn, I shall probably sit here and plot some deep, dark revenge!

At least your mother came out of it alright with a clean house.
I wonder what you are plotting!
Hope you had a good time in the end.

Never mind! The posh restaurants (and even the not so posh ones) were all too, too crowded to be enjoyable today anyway. I bet your mother had a fab day though and that is a gift to both of you. Thanks for a great post, as usual!

Sorry to hear you didn't have such a great day. As Puzzled says, the restaurants are all worth avoiding on Mother's Day anyway, I think - much better to go another day or get someone to cook for you at home.

Glad you managed to make your own Mum's Mother's Day at any rate.

The words of a song come to mind...'Cos you are not alone...' Perhaps next year will be perfect!

Are you still on your Lenten mission of filling bags with things you no longer require?

You mean you had the house to yourself! What are you complaining about, woman? ;)

It was suggested that we go somewhere very expensive ... never mind the cost!

So I drove to the petrol station.

And that's how the argument began ...
