Thou Shalt Not Blog

No, the Father of This Lot has not found out about it and issued a proclamation.

It's a self-induced eleventh commandment. (And don't worry - it's strictly temporary).

As I said, very quietly and gently to this lot lastnight,

'THIS HOUSE IS AN ABSOLUTE TIP!'

And it's true. It is in immediate need of some de-cluttering, deep-cleaning and general care and attention.

In fact, if there were awards for housekeeping, I would nominate myself for this one:

And, as we know, blogging is not very condusive to housework. In fact, I think it's in direct opposition.

So I'm signing off for a couple of days and getting down to it. I've even got a plan!

There will be less of this:

And more of this:

Less of this:

And more of this:

This will be ditched:

So I can get back to this:

And I think this staying overnight business........

.....may need a review. Whilst it has its advantages, it is leading to more of this:

Which I definitely do not need.

And if any of my kids are reading, I would like to point out that I do not intend to do it alone. Your evenings will not include any of this:

Until we have tackled these:

So. That's the plan. No distractions till it's all done.

Although if I get an offer for any of this:

....I may well be tempted.

See you Friday!

How very disciplined of you....I personally prefer to keep blogging 24/7 in order to avoid signs of any other disorder amongst house and/or kids x

Ha ha ha! Loved this post.

Looks like the FOTL has already made a start on the dishes.

Good luck dragging the kids away from that cowboy programme. Was that an HD ready TV?

Wonderful idea! When you return( flushed with success)can you advise if it's better to start the clean-up in the corners or the middle of the room?

Phew! At least it's only a couple of days. For a moment there I thought you joining the ranks of those going "for now".

Withdrawal symptoms slowly subsiding now...

that was fantastic... and funtastic.

I also feel the same.

Yesterday we had a dust storm and i have to WORK on the house.

Your picture sentences are super. How do you make your posters?

Have a good week.

I have burnt food, while I was busy blogging or day-dreaming about it.

May be Blogger should shut down for one or two days a week so we can all catch up!!!!! I am in a similar state at the moment but have not reached such desperation YET! Good luck to you with the cleansing & I hope you get the help you need!

I should follow your wonderful example. But maybe not this week. Hope you get it all done so you can spend more time doing the stuff that really matters. Blogging.

Yes this pesky blogging does kind of take over, doesn't it! I have to have a blog ban now and then too. It's amazing what you can get done! I hope you get lots of help.

Have just spent 3 hours reading blogs instead of cleaning house for potential buyers. You're distracting me! Must do better!

Chef was home yesterday, I tend to 'get my finger out' when he's around. But he can get in the way of the housework, so I sent him out into the garden with an Irish Independent and his phone. I got so much housework done, and ironing....

(Thankfully, he doesn't get many days off!)

Hi,

Wicked post!

I managed to rope my 3 bigger kids into an hours full on housework (pardon the language)last night with the theory-if we do an hour of it together it will save me doing four whole hours by myself tomorrow. It worked a treat, for once i was greeted with almost enthusiasm, house looked good, everywhere clean & tidy.

Then the 2 little ones came home from their dad's today!!
