Just Sitting Here.......

...wondering......

.....why there is a pair of pink spotty knickers hanging from one of the hall lights....

....why every single one of the fourteen kitchen cupboard doors is open....

....why nobody in this house bothers with me unless I am on the phone or in the bath, when I suddenly become the most exciting person on earth.......

....why, despite the fact that I seem to do obscene amounts of washing and ironing, nobody ever has anything to wear......

....why, when I discovered the Football Fanatic scrabbling under her bed in the dark and asked what she was doing, she replied, 'I'm looking for the tomato sauce'....

AND WHY IN THE NAME OF ALL THAT'S HOLY IS THERE A STRAY KITTEN IN A BASKET IN THE PORCH???????

Ah, you need a holiday and not tell the lot of them where you are for at least a week! Why have you got a kitten in a basket? Is that kinda retro food like chicken in a basket used to be?!

The knickers ... have you been swinging from the chandeliers again? ;-) x

So familiar. Except for the knickers on the hall lamp. The mind boggles!

Your life is so interesting! I guess 5 girls will do that to a household though!

Where else would you keep the tomato sauce?

Forgot to say - could you look after my kitten for a few days? I have to go on holiday. ;0)

I do like this post. It reminds me of life in my house, before my lot upped and went. You'll miss it all, when it's no longer happening!

That all sounds perfectly normal Jackie! Lovely... And my Daughter still manages to telephone when I'm either on the loo or in the shower - no kidding. I think they have this sixth sense about it. M :-)
PS Hope you didn't eat the kitten-in-a-basket!

What a kitten! How wonderful...don't offer it the under the bed tomato sauce though...it would prefer a bowl of milk and maybe some tuna.

Yes and yes again!! You've said so much in so few words.

I know this exciting woman in the bathroom routine so well!... Mum? Mum? Are you in there?

I have banned the children from calling me "Mum?". Not out of mean spirit but because it's much like being shocked with an electric cattle prod, I find.
Mum? Can I...
Mum? Where are you...
Mum? He's doing my head in...
Mum? I'm hungry...
MUM? I'm bored...

I've started answering the "Mum?"s with: Ready! in a mock cheery voice. Through clenched teeth.

I expect this is all - - n o r m a l - -
