Green Fingers (Take Two)

FOUND THE CAMERA LEAD!

(Actually, I found it about half an hour after I purchased a card reader....but that's par for the course in here.....So, on with the story......)

Once upon a time (actually, it was the last school holiday) a little girl called The Noise planted some seeds.

She waited, and watered them, and when the sun came out she made sure they were in it, and then she waited a bit longer.

And just when she was getting a bit tired of waiting, she went outside one day and found that the seeds had become.......

....this!

And that the tomato plant that her Mum had planted (to try and cut down on the cost of financing Matthew the greengrocer's holidays) had turned into this.......

She still can't quite figure out how those little yellow flowers are going to become tomatoes, but her Mum has assured her that they will. Hopefully.
And while we were in the garden, we took a photo of this, which is by our back door.

Who says shamrock only grows in Ireland?

Maybe you just need good Irish connections.

The story editor has been asked to point out that during the making of this post, The Noise was more than a little aggrieved that her new French manicure didn't show up very well. (The one that she got at her friend's party at a beauty parlour last weekend, along with a pedicure and pink hair extensions).

In my day, a nine-year-old's party consisted of a bowl of jelly and a game of Musical Chairs.

So, what do you think?

Will The Noise one day present 'Gardener's World' or is Alan Titchmarsh's job quite safe?

I am quite impressed. And I love your white table.

Please tell The Noise I think she has lovely hands, even if her manicure didn't show up.

I don't think I've ever been the first to leave a comment here before. ;-)

Alan Titchmarsh is safe. Charlie Dimmock however, better worry. A lot.

That is very impressive. As a gardener and nail manicurist (of my own nails only!) I am very impressed with both the plants and the nails.

Well done Little Miss Noise.

(yes I can see the nails - just - now that you mention them and they look fine to me.)

I think the Noise has done a fab job. But we need another photo of her manicure please so that we can judge properly.

Those photos are really great: nasturtiums, tomatoes and shamrock - very impressive. And did that lead reappear all on its own? M xx
PS. Yes, would love to see the Noise's manicure (and pedicure and pink hair extensions) in more detail!

That is the best time to start gardening is when you are young. Get it in their blood! Tomatoes are my all time favorites.

Great news about Chloe!
Praise God!

You girls really have green fingers although they don 't appear so in the photo.

Our garden is a mess because of the heavy rains.

Glad you found the cable.

Well tis clearly all down to the luck of the irish.
Comment on facebook most welcome.
Birthdays in my day also consisted of a long dress and a bow in your hair. When youngest was asked what she was wearing to a party last week, she looked at me with that numbingly withering look only the young can manage and said " just my jeans and this top"

Impressive. You know you can eat the Nasturtiums as well, don't you? Bet Matthew doesn't sell them!

Good job!

My girls love gardening, too. Kids get great satisfaction when the seedlings appear, don't they?

Did you ever grow a carrot-top in a saucer of water on the windowledge when you were little?

Need to cut the grass this afternoon, but the hayfever is kicking in just thinking about it!

My prayers worked for Chloe, I see!

Have a great weekend

So pleased the latest news on Chloe is good!

Hmmm, I reckon if you feed her lots of Baby Bio, that Noise of yours could be the next Monty Don(na). Love the shamrock!

If I'd said I'd been thinking of Shudehill Shamrock I'd have been telling porkies.

What I don't understand is how your daughter planted them out in straight lines in a bed in the top photo, but the stuff turns up in flower pots later on.

But I'm sure you'll explain.

Did you know Alan Tichmarsh tells rude jokes to the Queen?
