Puzzle 101

Blimey, this real life business is making a habit of cutting into this blogging lark. At some point, I will have time to reveal all - possibly a 'Week in Review' post on Friday!

For the moment, there is a Champions League semi-final match to pace through. It starts in an hour and the Football Fanatic is already hyperventilating. I am however, quite pleased that I managed to talk her out of travelling to Barcelona to watch it live, with three lads, no accomodation and no ticket.

So, for tonight, because we haven't had one for a while, I will leave you with a puzzle. You'll like this one - it's one of Fr. J's. He sometimes puts them on the end of the bulletin when he can't think of anything holy.

In heavy fog, there was a serious road crash which involved two trucks and six cars. All the vehicles were severely damaged. Police and ambulances were quickly on the scene, where they found both truck drivers and took them to the hospital for treatment.
However, no drivers from any of the cars could be found at the scene of the accident.
Why not?

Comments off in case anyone gets it right!

Oh, you clever lot!
Nearly everyone got this one right.
I'll have to tell Fr. J to make the questions harder!

The two trucks were car transporters, so the six cars that were being carried by them didn't have any drivers.

And as usual, David had the best answer!

Either these are getting easier, or I'm getting smarter. I'm going for the smarter option, of course.

Were the trucks both transport carriers?

Now I'm thinking I may be wrong and my earlier comment is going to make me look incredibly stupid and vain. Oh well, no change there then!

Because the cars were parked/empty?

At least one of those trucks was an auto carrier.

I got it, didn't I? Really, I got it!

Fr. G leads off all his sermons with a joke. I think he wants to get it in there before he says something holy.

um ... because the cars were on those big car load thingys?

(dig says they are called car transporters. tsk.)

It is so annoying when work gets in the way of our activities, isn't it?

The cars were being transported by one of the trucks? Or both?

Hugs to you!

The cars were in the trucks? Or the cars were parked...

Yes, I too think it was in a parking lot or the cars were parked. Daryl and I are just too smart.

Car carrier trucks?

The trucks were the kind that transport cars?

They were train cars colliding with trucks at a railroad crossing, yes?

My comment doesn't have to be hidden because I haven't a clue- too stuffed on Matzah and light-headed from Kosher Wine to be able to think properly.

I'm dying to know though. There's nothing more annoying that the feeling that you have the answer but just can't quite find it when it's needed.....

I'll just enjoy the heatwave whilst I'm waiting to hear....

Hey, what happened to my last comment?

I can't do brain stuff. It's too hard. Now I'll be worried about it all night.

Because the cars were empty, being parked!

The cars were either parked stationary or the lorries were car transporters. Hope real life calms down for you soon. Luv "The Pud." (I've never been called that before, ay ay calm down)

Because the car drivers were in Barcelona watching the football.

Right?

Because one of the trucks was a car transporter with six empty cars on it?

I watched the match last night and couldn't believe it when Cristiano missed from the spot! Aaaargh! He's scored a ton of goals this season but that miss might prove costly. Still, 0-0 isn't such a bad result and they'll have home advantage next time.

Hi Jackie have a lot of catching up to do as I missed a lot. Father "s puzzle is a real teaser.

Well, I suppose I was the one who didn't get it:(
My excuse is still I'm jet-lagged and on UK time. Okay- that's not true, but saying I'm too busy sight-seeing doesn't sound so good.

I'll do better at the next one, I promise! especially if you let me peak the day before!!

Mother: love your retro photos / illustrations. Where on earth do you find them? And did we ever see women this way? Well, apparently. If I didn't want to escape with my life I'd ask when PMT was invented ...

Jackie there's an award waiting for you over at my place!

You're right - David's answer the wittiest as usual! I missed this. Blimey I've not been over for ages!

Fr. J does much easier quizzes than you though!

Ak, I missed this too. I need to drop by more. Sadly, as you've said, life gets in the way at times.

I'm just trying to catch up on all my favourite blogs today... sorry I missed this, although I wouldn't have guessed right. Duh. I thought maybe the trucks smashed into (empty) parked cars. I liked David's answer too. He's always so clever.
