Awards

Well, since we're all still waiting with baited breath and I have nothing to tell you yet, I thought I'd better pass on the stack of awards which have built up over the last couple of weeks.

I had this one from CrazyCath and Katney, who reliably informs me that since I've had this one before, I don't have to pass it on, which I'm really glad about, because choosing ten blogs is so hard!

I think Cath must have been up all night last night, because, inspired by The Fixer, she has been making a little awards portfolio of her own! And I got one! This one - 'You raise my spirits when we talk'

There are no rules with it, but I'm passing it on to those blogs which raise my spirit -

And this one from Lynn at All Things Bright and Beautiful. There have been lots of days when I've sat in front on this computer with the weight of the world on my shoulders. Well, not literally, but it's felt like that sometimes. A quick visit round these blogs has cheered me up no end: Family Affairs, Mean Mom, Beth, Merry Weather, Expatmum, Kimmie, Dusty Spider, Working Mum, Suburbia, Expatkat, Akelamalu, Ciara, Monkey Giggles, Autumn, Katney, Amanda David Carolyn, Crystal Jigsaw

And two more newly-created awards (that Fixer's got a lot to answer for if you ask me)

This one, made by Working Mum is called 'Blog of Distinction' - she's a teacher - what did you expect? It is to be passed on to those blogs which make you laugh, cry, think or sigh.

So, without further ado, here's the ones that make me laugh:

Pig in The Kitchen, Manic Mother of Five, Chris B, Belle, Swearing Mother, Milla, Lizzy , The Lehners in France

The thinkers: Casdok, Adrienne, Jen at Gathering Grace, Meggie, Jeni at Down River Drivel, Mulier Fortis, Holy Chaos, Sweet Irene

MOB made me cry profusely the other day, so she gets the crying award! And Amrita makes me laugh, cry, think and sigh all at the same time!

Finally, this very special award was created by Amrita. It is the custom in India to give a garland to someone as a sign of honour, respect, welcome, love and friendship

I would like to pass this award on to Renae. She'll know why.

TWO HOURS those links have just taken me.

Hope you all enjoy your awards and don't forget to pass them on.

Oh, and I may have some news regarding the Father of This Lot by tomorrow.

Did I mention he was staying the night?

I would first of all like to thank my two dogs and two cats for always supporting me in all my endeavors. Thanks also to my Mom, who is always watching over me and doesn't like my whinny ways anymore than the rest of the world. And finally, thanks to my husband and editor who makes sure my commas are in the right places.

But.............no awards speech would be complete without mentioning THE FIXER (and her sisters) who give us all hope for the future.

Wow. I thank you. You have no idea what my day has been like, so I thank you for lifting my spirits. Okay, if you want to know what my day has been like, you can read my blog posting later (I haven't posted yet).

Cheers!

Awww thank you so much TMOTL - I really appreciate it. I'm very glad I stumbled across your blog - you invariably make me smile.

Good luck for the staying the night thing ;-) x

Now, Jackie, this blog is supposed to make me laugh, and you've gone and made me cry! Thank you so much, dear friend. I garland you back, though I'm so technically challenged I don't know how to transfer it!

Thank you, dear friend. You know the feeling is mutual.

My God woman am I meant to stay sat at this computer? Are my family ever to be fed or even spoken to again? Do I care? NO!!!
Thank you so much! You are such a great friend. It's taken me hours to do the links and awards too! Your fixer has a LOT to answer for. Still can't do 'em as good as her. And it's time she visited my blog! She hasn't picked up her award yet! I know it's basic, but so am I!

I got my part 2 up now with links to you, but you got your award yesterday so you're off the hook today. Thanks for mine. You are just brill. (Get up the M6 soon).

wha?
if he's staying the night, then perhaps we can make an educated guess...

THANK YOU for the sweet award. I love your blog, it's always a treat to come over, which considering your circumstances at times, speaks volumes about the blogger.

and hmmmm, staying the night? that should be interesting.

p.s. the fixer is one heck of a writer and award maker, too!

Jeni said...

So, my blog makes you think, huh? Probably that is because the posts tend to be so long and often very convoluted -like my mind, most of the time - that you are thinking, Lord, will this piece EVER end!
But I thank you sincerely, from the bottom of my pea-pickin' heart too! I shall display it with great pride.

Mean Mom said...

There's a coincidence. I was visiting your blog, whilst you were visiting mine. I must work my way around the other blogs who cheer you up. Perhaps they would do the same for me.

I'm really pleased with the award. I'm doing my best, at the moment, to stay loopy, but I can feel some sad and serious blogs piling up, so you had all better watch out!

Kit said...

Shock and awe! Thanks Jackie - and OH YES...we will be expecting an update this time tomorrow!!!

Kimmie said...

Hi Jackie;

You really make me smile from the inside out...you know what I notice about you...you enjoy blessing others, encouraging them and holding them up for a moment to let them feel their own value and worth. The world needs more like you, dear sweet sister, you are a thoughtful precious soul.

May God's hand bring you blessings and may your eyes and heart be fixed more and more on Him.

Hug and thanks again, you brighten my day again and again. Give a hug to the fixer for me, such a kind and talented girl.

I looked at your post last night. I looked through thinking, I wish she thought I was cool enough to give me an award. Then couldn't even comment because the pain of not getting one was just too deep.
True Story.
Then this morning, you can imagine my surprise when you came by and said I had an award! I came back and looked a little harder and there IT was!! And I'm so happy it was the Ethel and Lucy one. Now I just have to get it over to my blog. Anyway, THANK YOU.
You made my day!!

Beth Cotell said...

Thank you so much, MOTL.

And I really admire the award you've created for Amrita, who richly deserves it.

How wonderful to know you and FOTL will be under the same roof. Bless ya both.

Working Mum said...

You drop that comment in at the end of the blog?!!!! Staying the night?

I'm off to 'little pink toolbox' to see what she thinks!

Thank you for the award, it's great. (Funny to see 'blog of distinction making it's way around the world.)

Dusty Spider said...

What a stunning award ceremony, then, just as the curtain goes down you drop that little nugget of information in. Staying the night! Staying the night! There you've made me say it twice. Right, now dish the dirt lady. Flick xx

Katney said...

Well, Jackie, I don't know what to say. Hmmm, maybe I can find a picture that will illustrate how I feel. Yep, I think I have just the one.

Autumn said...

LOL! You gave me a "you cheer me up award" when I feel it's YOU who always cheers me up!
I feel like I'm always whining about one thing or another.. Thank you! It's much appreciated. Staying the night huh? I can't wait to hear!

Akelamalu said...

Why thank you m'deario, the feeling is mutual and I'm honoured. xx

Cath said...

Been over your kid's and left a comment - have a look.

Tell the 19 year old I don't hate her! I know how she feels - I was once 19 with a PITA 12 year old sister. If I thought the world was against me it was in my head. Just let her know the world is NOT against her!

You must feel like a full time referee sometimes...
Good luck.
This blog thing does not want me to comment so this is the second time I've tried. Here's hoping for no errors...

Yippee! Yipee! Yipee! Yipee! Did I say Yipee?

In other words, thanks. I had no idea my blog had the ability to cheer anyone up. This comes as a total shock since I spend a lot of time bitching and moaning in my posts. Many of the titles also contain the word crap.

Come to think of it, perhaps my pathetic existence is what cheers you up so much. Does reading about my life makes you feel better about yours??

Whatever your motivation to read my blog is, I'm thankful for the award. You cheer me up too.

Thanks for the award! I'm slowly getting back into things. Sorry it took me a bit to reply. All my best!

Thanks for my award. I have been a little distracted with family, but will get around to posting it.
Good luck with the 'sleepover'.!

Cath said...

Er... I seem to have missed the last line on your post before. Hmmmm. Either I did not care to see it or you slipped that one in later. I'll give you the benefit.... I can be selective in my reading sometimes without knowing it. ;0)

How's things with the Fixer and the Football Fanatic? Hope it's calmed down for you.
Hope the night went well...

Ah thanks for this! How lovely...

To think I've cheered you up, amazing - how? - I'm hopeless!

But you've cheered me right up and I'll go and pin it up right now.

I LOVE your girls' room signs!! Great imaginations :)
