Happy Mother's Day

While it may not have stretched to breakfast in bed, I did have a lovely Mother's Day, and I hope all you wonderful mothers out there did too.

The house is full of flowers and presents, and the Football Fanatic managed to find me a card which could have been custom made. It read:

Without a Mum like you,
I'd be sad and I'd be blue
Like a lace without a shoe...

And not only that...
I'd be STARVING!

I imagine the only other people who bought this card were big, strapping, teenage sons.

The Noise went to great pains to point out that I can only wear her present....

....when I am cooking with her, ON HER OWN, WITHOUT THE OTHERS.

These were from The Fixer....

...and The Singer....

....and this from the Football Fanatic, which, let's face it, I'm never going to see again after today.

And then, there was this, from The Peacemaker. Now, not only will buying a book entitled

'The Mums Book...for the Mums who are best at everything'

get you endless Brownie points, let me tell you, I have flicked through it and this book will keep me in blog posts for months! In fact, I'm already mentally writing tomorrow's post. I think we'll call it 'Mothering Monday'. Yep, that's got legs...I can see a series.....

And if you thought that was it, think again. I nipped over to Bella's only to find this:

For always knowing what to say, no matter who she’s speaking to…..For keeping her sense of humour in situations when I would have lost mine, and so much more…For making me laugh, out loud, again and again; and then hours later, all over again…For sharing her strength and determination to make the next day better than today - for yes, that thought quietly shines through for those of us who really hear her words…Five daughters. One Mother……Jackie - You Rock!

I haven't commented yet. I don't know what to say.

Bella and I have never met in real life. In fact we've only 'known' each other for a couple of months, but I do know that if we ever did meet, we'd have a fantastic time! Now, I often read about blog friends meeting up and becoming great 'real' friends, but that is unlikely to happen with Bella and me, because very soon, she's moving to the other side of the world. I'm really glad for her, because travel and adventure is in her blood, because she's starting a new life, because New York is the most exciting city in the world.....but I'm sad too, because I would have loved to have had a mocha with her just once!

So, just for you, Bella, here's one for your sidebar.

Have this one on me!

And FINALLY......scroll down two posts for the answer to the puzzle!

Note to self: Never again do a post with this many pictures unless you have three and a half hours to spare.

Happy Mother's Day! To someone who'd really earned it.

Not Mother's day here until May time so my sister in the UK always gives us a warning so we can get cards in the mail to our mums.

It means a lot.

Happy Mothers Day. You have got to be the best Mom ever (next to mine who passed away 26 years ago - I still miss her)

Wow, I'm so glad I visited - what a wonderful Blog. And with 5 Daughters, how do you ever get the time? I've read your latest two, and will be back to read more. I can see you had a wonderful day with all your wonderful girls, and had some fabulous presents. Well deserved. Thank you also for introducing me to Bella.

Happy belated Mother's Day (I am a strong believer that every day's Mother's Day, at least for the kids, "Mom!" or "Mom?")!

Your Football Fanatic's could have come from my son. *lol*

Mother's Day in Austria is celebrated on the second Sunday in May.

Have a great week!

I love it, Jackie, thank you so much:)!! I have never had anything like this with my name on it before..I'm so excited! I am drinking a mocha at this very minute and keep finding myself peering over it just in case 'Bella' magically appears in the froth there too...oh, how easily the lines between fiction and fact become blurred!!

You won't escape a coffee with me that easily though...I will be making trips back and forth to get my vital supplies of Cadburys chocolate, Twinings tea and Marmite so we must put it on our 'to do' list! And of course you could always come to me for a coffee....!

Oh- and thank you Daryl for such a nice offer! I'm looking forward to it already :)

What a wonderful tribute to you and to from your children and to Bella from you.

I've only been reading a couple of weeks or so and I agree with Bella's sentiments totally. You have soooo made me laugh when I have needed it! And you so get life in it's true perspective.

Your football fanatic's card could have come from my 18 year old too.

A belated but heartfelt Happy Mother's Day, my dear - your girls are delightful and it is no wonder, given their fabulous Mum!

And to Bella, we Yanks DO have your basic Cabury's and Twinings here, honest! (In NYC, you will be able to find the rarer stuff in specialty shops, like Aeros, Curly Wurlys and Turkish Delight...yummmmmy....)
